Position Summary

The South Berkeley Fire District is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Firefighter. This position is responsible for emergency response activities, and supporting the district’s mission of protecting life and property.

Shift Schedule: Required to work at least 60 hours per month.

Compensation

• Hourly rate is $11.63/hour.

Minimum Qualifications (Required at Time of Application)

• IFSAC Firefighter II
• Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT)
• Basic Auto Extrication or equivalent
• NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700, 800
• Valid CPR / First Responder Certification (or equivalent)
• Completed Probationary Firefighter Task Book (completed post-hire)
• Successful completion of Probationary Exam (completed post-hire)
• Successful completion of physical agility test (given at time of interview)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Respond to fire, EMS, rescue, and related emergency incidents
• Conduct apparatus checks, maintenance, and documentation
• Participate in required training, drills, and continuing education
• Maintain compliance with District policies, SOPs, and safety standards
